On your overland expedition you have the adventure of driving your own vehicle, led by local guides, giving you independence and your own space, but with the security and camaraderie of traveling with a small group in your convoy. Our small group adventures are provided through our network of handpicked local overland tour operators around the globe. Most of these overland adventures and expeditions are designed for and available exclusively to our guests. Join a group or bring your own and we will design a self drive adventure for you.

We had no expectations. Zimbabwe as a nation and destination blew us away. The people were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. Right from the start of exploring Great Zimbabwe and then the Motopo's, set us up with the understanding of the history and culture of this stunning country. Gus our tour leader's knowledge and passion for the country stood out with every kilometer traveled. The camp sites were thoughtfully selected to provide the ultimate experience, unique to each area. This is a must do trip for anyone who enjoys adventure on lesser traveled roads. Just do it!

Costa Rica - Highly Recommended
Costa Rica was our second trip with SDA and didn’t disappoint. Scenically it is a beautiful country of mountains, rivers, rainforest, lakes, waterfalls, beaches and wildlife galore. Our itinerary covered most of the country and gave us some amazing experiences in some out of the way places. The accommodation was unique, varied and comfortable. The small group enabled plenty of 4WD in reliable, late model vehicles. The guides were friendly and competent and the organisation by SDA cannot be faulted. Highly recommend.
